40+ people, nine countries, three continents, one topic. At the Educational & Technology PhD Summer School, current issues in higher and vocational education are discussed from international perspectives.

Of course, generative AI is a central topic, but COIL, accessibility, virtual reality, future skills, growing up with social media, and gamification also show that the global higher education community is engaging with common themes. At the same time, we have intensive exchanges on methods and research design, learning together how to gain more insights and understanding of current issues.

This is inspiring and gives confidence, especially in times when narrow-mindedness, exclusion, and backwardness seem to dominate international developments. The international community of Education & Technology stands for a different future, in which a global agenda for future higher education is emerging, characterized by diversity, cooperation, and humanity. If there is a „future proof“, here it is.
